Description[]
The Variants were formerly Mount Massive Asylum patients, before being cruelly experimented on by the Murkoff Corporation. They are prisoners of the asylum who are willing to kill to get out, some of them are friendly towards Miles, but some are also extremely aggressive and are capable of killing you, they act as the main enemy and NPC of the game, they all have different personalities, different traits and some even resort to trying to kill themselves or other patients if they feel like it. He is naked, has tumours on his head and body and has a machete.

Machete Patient is in Boss Pack 11 and was paired with the other patients of outlast to form the first quintet Boss. 4 out of 5 bosses share the same speed which is fast and the same presistancy which is very presistant, however The damage dealt by each one of them is different. The Machete Patient is the 2nd strongest and the strongest chaser in the quintet, Insta killing 125hp classes like scout. He is stunnable.
