Description[]
The Variants were formerly Mount Massive Asylum patients, before being cruelly experimented on by the Murkoff Corporation. They are prisoners of the asylum who are willing to kill to get out, some of them are friendly towards Miles, but some are also extremely aggressive and are capable of killing you, they act as the main enemy and NPC of the game, they all have different personalities, different traits and some even resort to trying to kill themselves or other patients if they feel like it. He has empty eye sockets because his skin is covering them, he has no shirt on, is wearing green pants and has a cleaver.

The Butcher Knife Patient is in the Outlast Pack. This Patient appears with 4 other Patients and is the third strongest of the bunch. The Butcher Knife Patient has mostly the same stats as the other Patients, which is mostly average. He deals pretty heavy damage with it's cleaver, but He doesn't one-shot any class. Just like the other Patients, he possesses no glow and doesn't become loud until he hears you.
Recommended Classes[]
Heavy is the best class here since, when wearing the Gloves of Running Urgently, he can outrun the Patients as with ease. He can even tank hits from the Machete Patient. Other than that, Medic, Demo, and Spy are pretty good choices.
